Looking Out, Held Still
From a commission for Kaethia_. I chose one frame because it holds what I look for: a face that is sharp and quiet against a city and sea that dissolve into warm and cool blur. She is near, the horizon is far, and the railing connects the two.

The wide aperture keeps only her profile sharp. Everything she is looking at stays out of focus, as if still to be decided. A small smile, and the light on her cheek, are why I took it.
